1. Civil pool design

The landscape pool is generally 0.6-0.8 meters deep. The reason is to ensure the submerged depth of the suction port. The bottom of the pool is a whole plane, which is convenient for the installation, construction and maintenance of the pipeline equipment in the pool. Only when the shallow butterfly pond is designed to reflect the hydrophilic characteristics, the suction pond or pump pond is used. A water depth of 0.6-0.8 meters is actually disturbing. Similarly, the design of children’s swimming pools is generally 0.3-0.6 meters deep. Once the children fall into the landscape pool, it will be very dangerous. We think the suitable water depth is 0.2-0.4 meters. Another advantage of this method is that when the turbidity of the water is slightly higher, the feeling is still clear. The top surface of the pool wall should allow tourists to sit down and rest. The height of the top surface of the pool wall from the ground is generally 0.30-0.45m, except for the artificial lake, the water surface should be higher than the ground. If the water level is low, it feels like a deep pool. From a hydrophilic point of view, it is reasonable that the water surface is 0.2 meters away from the top of the pool wall. Submersible pump wells or pump suction nozzles can achieve water absorption conditions as long as they are locally deepened. A grid can be set on the surface of the pump pit to shield the equipment and act as a grid to prevent large particles from being sucked in. From an aesthetic point of view, the surface of the pool should be minimized as far as possible. The vertical overflow nozzle should pay special attention to it. When the water surface rises, it will produce a lot of drainage and suction sounds.

2. Material selection for fountain design piping

Early engineering generally used hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, but there were many shortcomings. After a period of use, the surface of the steel pipe corrodes, which affects its appearance, and its service life is more than twice that of the concrete structure. Copper pipes and stainless steel pipes are better, but the cost is higher. uPVC pipes can avoid corrosion, but also have problems such as poor weather resistance, accelerated color change and aging. If it is buried below the bottom of the pool (pay attention to the slope of the north, set the exhaust valve at the low end, drain and freeze in winter), the exposed part is copper or stainless steel, it should be a reasonable and economic solution. According to the manufacturer, in the absence of direct sunlight, the service life of PVC pipes can reach 50 years.

3. Pump selection

At present, many waterscape projects use pumpless submersible pumps as hydraulic lifting equipment to save construction area or reduce project cost. But at present, the stability of submersible pumps in China (including some foreign submersible pumps) is much lower than that of dry centrifugal pumps. Due to the damage of a single submersible pump, first, the water feature often produces local defects and the shape is incomplete;

The second is that once the pump rim is damaged, the water body will conduct electricity, and the leakage of the submersible pump in the fountain design in China has caused many casualties. If a centrifugal pump is used, the pipe length will increase. Pumping stations should be set up to increase the cost of landscape water use. Therefore, the development of high stability submersible pumps is the key to reducing the cost of fountain design engineering. In terms of maintenance conditions, centrifugal pumps also have advantages over submersible pumps. In order to maintain the long-term stable operation of the fountain, we believe that centrifugal pumps should be preferred. (When using a centrifugal pump, a leakage protection switch must be installed). At the same time, the pump should be grounded repeatedly. At the same time, the reinforcement mesh of the pool should be equipotentially grounded and strictly abide by the building electrical and construction specifications.
